Jeb Rowley, Public Works Director
Eureka County Public Works
The Eureka County Public Works Director’s Office oversees the county’s infrastructure and public facilities, ensuring that essential services like roads, water, and sewer systems meet community needs and comply with regulations. A key aspect of this role is integrating Emergency Management (EM) into every project. As the county’s Emergency Manager, the Director is responsible for incorporating EM functions and planning efforts to enhance community resilience, ensure continuity of operations, and protect essential services.
The Director manages the construction, maintenance, and repair of transportation infrastructure, ensures a safe water supply and effective wastewater treatment, and oversees public facilities such as parks and buildings. This includes project planning, securing funding, and coordinating with contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
In emergencies, the Director works closely with agencies to restore services and preserve public safety. As Emergency Manager, the Director also plays a key role in coordinating emergency response and recovery efforts. Strategic planning for future infrastructure needs is critical to this role. Additionally, the Public Works Department oversees the Eureka Airport, road department, water conservation efforts, landfill, and other essential services that support both daily operations and long-term growth.
