The Comptroller’s Office complies with Nevada Revised Statutes for reporting financial information, conducting periodic audits, and making timely and accurate financial information readily available to the public. We coordinate the financial operations of other county departments within statutory and procedural safeguards to protect county assets.

The Comptroller’s office staff are involved in preparing and administering the county’s $54 million annual budget. Once the Commissioners adopt the budget, the office focuses on controlling and efficiently allocating the budgeted resources while monitoring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and directives.

The Comptroller’s office audits all expenditures to ensure they comply with the county budget and are legally due and payable pursuant to state statutes. We also report the county's financial condition, maintain accurate records on all county assets, and process employee payroll for all departments. We review grants administered by other departments for compliance, prepare audit information performed by independent auditors, and establish internal controls to help mitigate any threats of fraud.
