Working with all departments, elected officials, and external entities, the Clerk-Recorder’s Office is committed to delivering efficient and professional service to citizens and visitors, though it does not provide legal advice.
As a dual office, the Clerk- Recorder handles a wide range of duties. These include serving as Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners, recording and maintaining public records like property deeds, and issuing vital records such as birth, death, and marriage certificates. The office also oversees elections, ensuring they are conducted fairly and securely.
Additionally, the Clerk-Recorder manages the filing of official documents, maintains county board records, provides public access to records, and administers oaths of office. The office also assists with legal processes by recording court orders and other essential documents that must be part of the public record.
